VACCEB Named 2025 California Nonprofit of the Year for District 20
The Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay was selected as the 2025 California Nonprofit of the Year for District 20 by Assemblymember Liz Ortega. This recognition reflects our long standing commitment to serving low income seniors, immigrants, and underrepresented families in the East Bay.
For over 30 years, VACCEB has been a trusted community hub focused on food security, health and wellness, education, and civic engagement. Each year, we provide more than 19,200 nutritious meals and distribute 28,000 grocery bags to seniors and their families. We support over 1,500 hours of appointments annually and offer ESL, computer literacy, and citizenship classes that empower community members with practical skills and pathways to opportunity. Our health fairs and naturalization services further advance access to care, information, and civic participation for hundreds of individuals each year.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Assemblymember Liz Ortega for this recognition and for her continued support of community based organizations.
VACCEB remains committed to advocating for and serving our community with dignity, compassion, and purpose.
The California Nonprofit of the Year program, sponsored by CalNonprofits in partnership with the Assembly and Senate Select Committees on the Nonprofit Sector, invites state legislators to honor one nonprofit organization in their district whose work strengthens communities and advances meaningful change. VACCEB was proud to be recognized in 2025 alongside other organizations across the state working to uplift diverse communities.
This honor affirms the resilience and strength of the community we serve. It also highlights the importance of collaboration between nonprofits and policymakers to ensure that seniors and immigrant families have equitable access to resources and support.
